All the ADA Jewelry is handmade out of Semi Precious Stones, Pearls, Glass Beads, Silver Beads and Ornamented Oriental Silver. The materials are carefully selected  and everywhere I go I hunt for special beads and always end up with small treasures from all over the world. The beads come from the Middle East, South East Asia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Tunisia and many other places. In this chapter I will give more information about the beads I use in my jewelry.

I have an extensive collection with a great variety in necklaces, bracelets and earrings. All the jewelry is unique. There are the One of a Kind Jewelry and there are small series, like the Long Mother of Pearl Necklaces and some of the Pearl Necklaces in which I use similar beads or Pearls but always in different combinations.

Semi Precious Stones

The Semi Precious Stones are found all over the world. They come in an endless shade of colors with unique patterns, stripes, flakes, shines and inclusions, matt and transparent. I have selected the stones for the best possible quality, size and color but it is a natural material and there are individual differences.

I intend not to use treated or artificial colored stones, but if I do for the sake of color it will be always expressly mentioned in the discription.

Freshwater Pearls  

Freshwater Pearls are produced in a wide variety of shapes and colors. They tend to be less expensive than saltwater Pearls, making them very affordable and popular. In the ADA jewelry only freshwater Pearls of various price levels are used.

Jewelry made of Pearls with size 7.5 - 8mm and larger are knotted between each pearl. This prevents the pearls from falling off the strand in the event the strand breaks. Also, because these pearls are more expensive, knotting prevents the pearls from rubbing against one another and causing damage.

The Pearls we use come in a wide variety of shapes and colors from less expensive to the more valuable ones. I use them to make the classical white or black Pearl Necklaces, blend them into the Shell Necklaces, make long single strands, mix them with Semi Precious Stones or use the colored pearls in modern necklaces for everyone to enjoy the unique appearance of the pearl.  

Pearl Rings

We can offer you a small selection of Pearl Rings which are set in Silver with a coating of white gold that wil protect  the ring from staining.

Mother of Pearl 

Mother of Pearl is mainly used in long necklaces and they come in many shapes and colors. After harvesting the Pearl there is no more use for the shell. The Mother of Pearl is cut into many fancy shapes like Nuggets, Donuts, Coins, Ovals, Squares, Buttons and Cubes.

Glass Beads

There is a wide variety of Glass Beads. Some are beautifuly decorated while others have a brilliant shine or stand out by their color. The decorated Glass Beads are mainly manufactured in India. Others like the famous Evil Eye beads and the glazed Ceramic Beads come from Turkey and the Crystals Beads, plain or facetted, are from the Czech Republic.

Silver Beads and Ornaments

Some Silver beads and spacers are made by tribal people from the North of Thailand. Other beads are from Nepal, India, The Middle Eastern and Cambodia.
The Oriental Ornamented Silver comes from Afghanistan and Nepal while the more modern Ornamented Silver designes come from Thailand and Cambodia.

Special Beads

There are some very special Beads used like the Ceramic Happy Long Life Beads from China. From Nepal the Silver covered Semi Precious Stone beads. From the Middle Eastern countries the Brass beads inlayed with Coral, Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli and Amber, the  Round Shell beads inlayed with Turquoise, Brass and Coral and the Natural Sponge Coral.
